Node Segmentation based on Capacity they have, and based on Channels they have
The Key points:
- Majority of the nodes have low capacity. To be precise, 86% of nodes have less than 10M sats (0.1 bitcoin) capacity
- Only 12 nodes have more than 10 bitcoin in capacity
- ~50% of nodes have less than 500k (0.005 bitcoin) sats capacity. In USD terms, we can think of as $200-$300.
The Key points:
- 50% of nodes have only one channel. Keep in mind, our work counts only public channels, so some of them may have private channel too. But we can safely assume that they are not a routing nodes
- Only 5% of nodes have more than 10 channels
- 8 nodes have more than 1k channels
